WEEK ONE – Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
WEEK TWO – Colossians 3:1-4
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
WEEK THREE – Hebrews 4:16
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
WEEK FOUR – John 15:4-5
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
WEEK FIVE – John 15:8
By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
WEEK SIX – Colossians 2:6-7
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
WEEK SEVEN – Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
WEEK EIGHT – I Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
WEEK NINE – James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
WEEK TEN – Romans 8:1-2
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death
Hi Karen,
I too have some well-worn index cards with verses written on them. And guess where I keep them? Tucked away in my car, which is where I do all my memorizing. I’m not sure where or how you memorize, but I found that dissecting verse into sections, and while driving, just keep repeating and then adding the next over and over. I still remember the ones I memorized from years ago, and I’m not sure why in my car. But it felt right at the time, and still feels right as then my driving time becomes something special. Yes, we do need to meditate on scripture day and night, and then, yes, we will have all those things……thanks for the reminder.
Once again sis, beautifully said!
